L4 CANCER & EXCERCISE SPECIALIST

L4 Cancer & Exercise Specialist (Distinction)

Cancer United L4 Cancer Rehabilition - Wright Foundation

Though we all know being active is good for us, there is now overwhelming evidence on the benefits of low to moderate activity on cancer specific treatment outcomes. Whether this is managing symptoms like fatigue or pre/post treatment rehabilitation, being active can have a positive impact on patient experience, quality of life and recovery. In saying this,  knowing what to do, when, why and ensuring it is safe, are important  common questions. With several Cancer specific qualifications, I am a Cancer & Excercise Specialist and have been Physical Trainer for Oncology at NHS service Active Against Cancer (Harrogate District Hospital) since the service opened in 2019.

I offer individualised, bespoke 1:1 sessions to support people in developing (or maintaining) strength and fitness and improving quality of life - any point from diagnosis to those living with cancer. I am confident adjusting sessions to stage of treatment and lifestyle, as well as experienced in supporting people pre/post surgery, with fatique, those adapting to living with but not limited to Stomas, tracheostomies, Catheters, RIG/PEGs and other potential side effects from treatment (eg. neuropathy, lymphodema, joint pain...).

No body is the same.

Activity looks different for everyone.

My broad spectrum of qualifications and experience, from Strength work and cycling, to Chair Based Exercise and Pilates/relaxation, allows me to ensure sessions are specific, safe and effective, whilst taking into account preferences.

1:1 Sessions are tailored to suit you and can be done at your home. Please contact me below for an informal chat on how I can help.
